Social Story Going To The Toilet

Sometimes things like using a toilet can be a bit daunting for children.  They may need to read about it, getting familiar with what happens before they can try it for themselves.  Social stories can really help with this, giving children a familiarity with situations and helping to build confidence and understanding about different scenarios.  This is a great social story which uses a combination of illustrations and photographs, to engage children and to help them to relate to the story on a deeper level.  If children are supported to read this lots of times, they may eventually be comfortable enough to take the big step of using a toilet themselves.  Other social stories are available to download separately to support children in a range of different life skills and social situations.
