Fractions Drawing Activity

Fractions can be tricky, especially when trying to do fractions of amounts.  So why not teach it through drawing?   This activity encourages the learning of fractions of amounts through drawing.  This is often a much easier concept for children to understand, eg. if we need to find 1/4 of 12 that is 1 in every 4.  A way to teach this is to have 12 objects and draw something on every 1 out of 4 objects.   Then count how many have been drawn on altogether.  This is often a way which children can grasp the concept a little easier.  Making fractions much more fun!
