When working with young children on their feelings and emotions, they can easily become overwhelmed by different emotions and lack the knowledge and understanding of how to maintain a sense of calm. Adults can work with children using these activities, allowing them to discuss different ways to help them to regulate. Children can select the activities which they feel may help them when they begin to become overwhelmed by the different feelings and their body and mood changes. These can then be used as a visual prompt to support children in self regulating.
